Meet Matt, Drummer Ready To Tour

Matt is 22 years old and has spent the last 7 years playing drums and alot of different bands. He has played pop punk, old school punk, hard rock, acoustic soft rock, ska, and just plain rock.

Matt is currently playing drums for a band called McSmokerson. Matt thinks that the bands lack of success is in part due to the fact that their melodic punk style is not really the in thing right now.

Matt auditioned for a band called Brazil a couple years ago, www.braziltheband.com , but had to turn down the offer due to some personal things going on in his life and now they just signed to a major label.

Matt is a serious drummer and want to find a national band on at least a small label that is able to tour full time most of the year. Matt was pleased to find this blog and says:

Yo Kiddies! I'm Back!

It's been a while. I've taken a bit of a hiatus while completing work on a big project with my paying gig. I recently had a speaking gig at a convention in Keystone Colorado... I must say, beautiful. I think I have the Rocky Mountain High now.

I'm on vacation this week and happy as can be to be back to blogging. It has been a little rough around here lately with a death in the family, my apartment complex had an amber alert issued for a little girl who is still missing and my husband lost his job! But, I'm hanging in there and things are beginning to get back to normal.

In one of my other lives, I recently interviewed a lady running for governor of the state of Tennessee. I also interviewed Howie of Punkenstein and more recently rebranded as American Gorillas. Howie was formerly known as Howie Zao and has lived in and performed in Hollywood, CA and New York, NY. Listen to the podcast here.

Brings me to another topic...
This blog is for bands and drummers all over the US but, since I'm in Tennessee, if you are in Tennessee and want to be interviewed, let me know.

Anyhow, come the next few days, I've had many a reader email me with some good information. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive and am happy to get my life back.

Zildjian’s products have unique storage requirements, including a temperature controlled environment with strict humidity parameters. OH Logistics will warehouse Zildjian’s products in part of its 4 million square foot campus in St. Louis and distribute them to musical instrument retailers throughout North America via LTL and parcel shipments.

“This is the first time we have outsourced any portion of our supply chain process, so it was very important for us to find a company we could trust,” said Craigie Zildjian, Chief Executive Officer of Zildjian.

"Zildjian has been distributing its own products for centuries,” said Jeff Lanter, Regional Vice President for OH Logistics. “We know the decision to outsource this part of their business was not an easy one and our team takes great pride in this successful implementation.”

OH Logistics’ Synapse™ warehouse management system is being utilized for the Zildjian account. Phase I of the implementation includes the storage of Zildjian’s drumsticks and POS materials; Phase II will incorporate the company’s cymbals.

Vacation Time

Sorry, I've been on vacation this week. Hope everyone is well and I look forward to getting back on schedule. Went to Kentucky Kingdom on Monday. It rained almost the whole time we were there, and not just rained -- it was the residual effects of hurrican Dennis -- all the way up in Louisville, KY... Suffice it to say, we had free reign (no pun intended) to any of the rides we wanted to go on (with the exception of the bumper cars which had to be shut down for a time because of too much water on the deck).

So, I've been thinking about conducting some interviews.... Hope to have at least one lined up within the next two weeks. If you would like to be a part of an interview, drop me a line at ratzisme@gmail.com.

Drummers :: Publicize Your Skills

From what I can tell in the log files, there's a fair amount of interest in this topic. Now, I know there is a lot of competition out there so that is why I want to know from you what kind of information or tools you would like to have access to. Going forward, this blog may develop into a more competitive site and I'd like to gear my investments toward what you want. I've received visits from people in the following states:

Michigan
South Dakota
Kansas
Florida
California
Pennsylvania
Maryland

They all seem to be bands looking for drummers or drummers that are looking for bands. So, if you are a drummer and you want to publicize your skills, this is the place to do so. There are many other forums out there, I'm sure, but why limit yourself?

Chuck Berry at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis?

Hey all. How goes it? While scouring the web for great information to bring you, I happened across this concert in St. Louis at this groovy little joint called Blueberry Hill (and yes, I've been there before). Anyway, it isn't clear to me (my tiny little brain just can't figure it out) whether Chuck Berry is actually going to be at this event or if it is a tribute. Either way I'm sure the music will be phenomenal. You've got to check this place out if you are in the area on Wednesday, July 13.

Great Interview :: Les Paul

I heard a great article on the radio today about Les Paul. Truly, I myself, knew very little about the famed Les Paul, apart that there was a guitar named after Mr. Paul. What an amazing life the man had. He was an innovator, an inventor and a man of great musical talent.

This interview that I heard was dated 1992, at which time he was still playing music with hands that were crippled with arthritis. He has a will that won't stop. I encourage each of you struggling with the pressures that you are facing to learn more about the legendary Les Paul.
